Hysteria
Hard and cold it wraps its arms around me, enveloping me in confusion and delusion. My mouth flies open in an eerie cackle, and I feel my mind slipping away. Too late for common sense to kick in. I’m in this alone.
Head tilted back, I let out a roar. It’s too much to bear but I can’t control the laughter. It’s taking control, spilling the contents of my mind into the abyss of night. The forest begins to snicker, greedily poking fun at my hysteria, with its evil yellow eyes. The ground swells around me, and though I know it’s an illusion, I can’t help believing that I’m being thrust into the air, against gravity and all that I knew.
They reach for me, spindly arms waving in the air. White and elegant and wispy, they encourage my laughter, urge it, and force it upon me so that I can’t breathe. My throat closes and I cough, but my lungs won’t move. Air all around me, and yet not a single breath to breathe.
My hair flies up, while I’m choking, and whips me in the face, and I feel the ground rushing up to me, racing me. The forest voices scream my name, in strange melodic tones, and then they screech with ear-shattering hisses, and it’s all I can do to cover my ears.
I typed this up at school a while ago. Not sure how good it is, but it's some rambling.
